Obverse: Mouth is distinctly open. Die lines from milling opposite and below end of bust are visible on most specimens.

Reverse: About half of the stripe lines extend to the second crossbar. There is a vertical line in the feathers to the right of the lower crossbars in the shield. This line is very fine and visible only in higher grade specimens. On Early Die State examples of this die marriage the is a diagonal line in the field just outside the eagle's breast feathers above the right claw.
