Obverse: The 34 is broadly recut, with the first 34 showing clearly about 1/4 of the height below the final 34. 18 also shows recutting, but it is not so obvious. Hair curls are always struck flat


Reverse: I is centered between TE. Most specimens show a bold recutting at the top and bottoms of AT. Some specimens may show signs of recutting at D, between TE, at upper serif of 2nd S, and between OF. Both the stripes and the crossbars of the shield are crude. On late die states there may be no trace of the over-date due to die lapping.
